I started running small scale, light refurbishment and renovation Projects in London in the 1980’s. I enjoyed seeing the end results and the customer’s smile at the completed job – even if it was a simple repaint of an external wall. I took away the need to get the end users’ desires confirmed and keeping the work on budget. During this time I completed my NEBOSH training as jobs needed full Health and Safety assessment.
I took a detour into contract management – bidding on and delivering new contracts to Area Operations Teams. I moved up North to get married and took on a technical role, working on Pre, Post and Network Sales helpdesks, moving into Solutions Consultancy and then full time Project Management – delivering solutions that Sales Teams had promised their clients.
I have worked as a self employed PM to both public and private sector clients in a variety of industries – which has broadened my mind to the differing ways Project can be approached.
Away from the office I spend time with my dog, flying my drone trying to get half decent photographs, and playing with gadgets – I love gadgets. If there is a gadget, I need to find a use for it.
